Guides for your kite holiday

Useful tips from our team to plan your days on the water in Hurghada.

The best time for kitesurfing in Hurghada

Hurghada on the Red Sea is one of the most popular kitesurf spots in Egypt. Sunshine almost every day, warm water and wind for most of the year make it a great place to learn and to ride.

May to October: the main season

These are usually the windiest and most reliable months. The wind blows mostly from the north and north-west and is often strong enough for every level. The water is warm, up to about 28 °C, so you can ride without a wetsuit.

March, April and November: quieter and still windy

Good months with fewer people on the water. There are many wind days, but the wind is a bit less steady than in summer. A light wetsuit is useful in the morning.

December to February: winter in the sun

The wind is often lighter and less regular, and the water is cooler, a little above 20 °C. Bring a wetsuit. On light wind days wing foil, kite foil and SUP are great choices.

The best time of day

The wind often gets stronger during the day, so late morning and afternoon are usually the best time. We check the forecast every day and plan your lesson at the best hours. We are open every day from 8:00 to 18:00.

Tips for your trip

Book your lessons for the first days of your holiday, so you have extra days if the wind is light. Our free transfer picks you up from your hotel. And if there is no wind, we move your lesson, give you a voucher for your next visit with 10% off, or you only pay for the hours you did.

Kitesurfing for kids and beginners

Never flown a kite before? No problem. You do not need any experience to start. Here is how your first days with us look.

Day 1: on the beach and in the water

You start on the beach with a small trainer kite and learn the wind window, the power zone and the safety systems. Then you fly a full-size kite and practise body drag in the water, without a board.

Days 2 and 3: on the board

On day 2 you take the board and work on your first water starts and short rides. On day 3 you learn to ride in both directions, change direction and control your speed.

Kitesurfing for kids

Children can usually start from about 12 years old. Younger kids from about 8 can join only under special conditions. Kids learn with a small kite, a vest and a helmet, and the instructor stays right next to them. Tell us your child's age and weight and we suggest the best plan.

Private or semi-private?

A private lesson is the fastest way to learn. A semi-private lesson for two people, for example a parent and child or two friends, is more fun together and cheaper per person.

Other easy first sports

For younger kids or for a relaxed day, windsurfing and SUP are a great first step on the water. Many families try them together.
